How can he measure exactly 6 liters of water using these two cups?
A:
- Fill the 9 liter cup first.
- Pour 4 liter from the 9 liter cup to the 4 liter cup.
- Empty 4 liter cup.
- From the remaining 5 liter water in 9 liter cup, pour another 4 liter to 4 liter cup.
- Empty 4 liter cup.
- Pour the remaining 1 liter water left in 9 liter cup to 4 liter cup. Now 4 liter cup can hold 3 liter water more.
- Fill the 9 liter cup again.
- Pour water to 4 liter cup (which contains 1 liter water already) until it is full.
- Now 9 liter cup contains exactly 6 liter water left! (Since 3 liter out of 9 liter got trasnfered to 4 liter cup).
